Dr. Daji Qiao is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. He received his PhD degree from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan under the guidance of Prof. Kang G. Shin. Prior to that, he received his MS and BE degrees from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, and Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, respectively.

Since joining Iowa State University in 2004, Dr. Qiao has been teaching various courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels: Cpr E 310 "Theoretical Foundations of Computer Engineering," Cpr E 489 "Computer Networking and Data Communications," Cpr E 543 "Wireless Network Architecture," and Cpr E 546 "Wireless and Sensor Networks." From fall 2009 to spring 2011, he managed Cpr E/E E/S E 492 "Senior Design Project: Part II." Dr. Qiao was awarded the department's Warren B. Boast Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2008 and 2011. He also served as the department's Director of Graduate Education from 2012 to 2017.

Dr. Qiao's research interests include wireless networking and mobile computing, sensor networks and Internet of Things, and cyber security. He was awarded the department's Harpole-Pentair Developing Faculty Award in 2008. Dr. Qiao has served on the organizing and technical program committees of numerous networking conferences.
