E E 524. Digital Signal Processing

Project Expectations:

I expect a brief professionally written report with references. The report should give an introduction to the problem, a description of the solution and any relevant theory, simulation results, and conclusions. Novelty, correctly applied, will be rewarded in the project grading. All Matlab code should be turned in via an electronic appendix (i.e., email it to me).

Project 1

Filterbanks for Software Radio

References:

Project 2 Adaptive signal processing

Choose an application from section 13.1 in the textbook for adaptive filtering. Let me know which application you choose. Only a maximum of two people can do the same application-first come, first serve. You will need to implement a version of this application in NLMS and Fast RLS.

Project Reporting:

I expect a brief professionally written report with references. The report should give an introduction to the problem, a description of the solution and any relevant theory, simulation results, and conclusions. I expect that you will read the current literature for your application and that it will be correctly and completely cited in a reference list. Novelty, correctly applied, will be rewarded in the project grading. All Matlab code should be turned in via an electronic appendix (i.e., email it to me).

In addition, you will also prepare a 10-12 minute presentation that introduces the problem, gives the key equations, and summarizes your results and key observations. The presentations will be during the final exam period for EE524. Everybody is expected to attend this session.
