About Me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. I work heavily in ISU's Information Assurance Center. I am focusing my research career on identity and integrity in network security and my educational career on enhancing the security education of students in IT related fields as well as enhancing the Computer Engineering First Year Experience.

I received my Doctorate in Computer Science from Purdue University under the advisement of Eugene H. Spafford. I did my graduate work initially in the Computer Operations, Audit, and Security Technology (COAST) Lab and then in the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS).

Research Areas

My work is primarily focused on the network identity at many different layers of abstraction. This work directly relates to my auxiliary work in security education, network testbeds, network integrity modeling, and intrusion detection.

Classes

I teach several security classes and our first year problem solving classes.

Vita and Bios

My vita is available in PDF and PS.
A short bio is available as text.
