I graduated with the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. My research interest is in wireless networks and mobile computing. I have been doing research and collaborating on the topics of Wireless Local Area Networks (IEEE 802.11), Wireless Broadband Networks (IEEE 802.16/WiMAX) and Wireless Vehicular Networks. My interest also includes emerging wireless technologies. I was enrolled at University of Balamand, Lebanon, in the Computer Engineering program for the freshman and sophomore years and I transferred to Iowa State University in 2001. I received the Bachelor of Science (With Distinction) in Computer Engineering from Iowa State in August of 2003.
I have had Teaching Assistant (TA) positions in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for several semesters. I was TA for the courses of sophomore-level logic design, junior-level computer architecture, and the graduate classes of wireless network architecture and high-performance communication networks.
I worked in the industry during one internship at Intel Corporation in Parsippany, New Jersey during May-August 2006. My project was on the Base Band module that implements the Physical Layer (PHY) and the Medium Access Control Layer (MAC) of a WiMax base station. I did research on the product and also testing on the board itself.
Among several professional activities I have done, I designed the CD of the conference proceedings, including the album art and catalog, for the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology (EIT 2008). This conference was held at Iowa State University in May 2008.
